the track, right here it went, start out of the car park on the fireroad up around the first switchback, out off at the 2nd into the old Kamakazi downhill, a steep rocky pitch which left most riders pushing, up out of that and onto t fast firebreak section, through one tight gap by the golf course, muddy right another muddy forebreak downhill few more tight corners, around horse shite corner and up the fire road to tht highest point of the track up by the cross, from here you drop into one of the old school downhill tracks for 1999ish which made for a lot of ninja lines and dodgy overtaking moves from the DH boys, down that and another stinker of a muddy climb followed, struggle up that and drop into another set of loose switchback corners where Dave Wilson ended his race after getting a very nasty gash on his leg after washing out on a log, the drop out of these corners was trickier still just a short steep chute, grand by DH terms but scary with the saddle jacked up your A@#. hold the right hander after this and another fast bit of muddy singletrack followed by tight woodsy section, pop out on the fireroad and start climbing again back to the finish, total length someone told me was 7km so a good length and the fastest time was 18minutes I think.

other results worth mentioning are Rory O’Connors (one of Wesley’s gang) 2nd win of the series in U-12’s

Now for the scandal, Greg Callaghan put in a nice wheelie in the finish but was outgunned by Alex’s effort, Greg also came prepared for the podium with a nice Umbrella and for the track with a nice dropper post. Brain Hanley did his first and possibly last XC race on Adrians SS hardtail and got Burned by Richie T. no sign from Cam Cornforth as he decided it was interfering with his DH training so went DH riding instead. The ploughmans lunch from Kurt and Una were amazing as always.
